Hot Toys announced today on their facebook page that they have the license for Tim Burton’s Batman Returns, and will be selling new action figures this year. I quiver at the prospect of having super-articulated, photorealistic depictions of the Michelle Pfeiffer and Anne Hathaway Catwomen on my desk at some point in the next 11 months.
As someone who considers Batman Returns the greatest work of cinematic art ever shot, and has waited like 20 years for a Max Shreck action figure, i am completely overwhelmed.

I had the original toy lineup for the Batman and Batman: Returns movies. Still have my Catwoman whip-action figure and Bruce switching to Batman figure. Would do my heart wonders to see the toys come out again.
I’m curious as to how the heck they’d pull off a Penguin figure with the Hot Toys level of realism. I’m also curious to see how many people would be willing to have something as creepy as an unblinking, miniaturized Danny DeVito Penguin figure staring at them from their toy shelf.
Here’s hoping there’s finally a horrifyingly accurate miniaturized Christopher Walken on the way.
