New superheroine cosplay pic set featuring Kat as alien girl Green Lantern Laira Omoto. You know, last time i posted on Thursday, i was riding a bit of a high, and looking forward to the weekend. Then everything went to hell…i was apparently ratted out to the morality police (more on this in an upcoming post) , lost $50 because nobody went to see Green Lantern, and then there was this. The absolute worst shooting experience in the history of the site…fuck me, i was seconds away from sepuku.
You’ll likely note that the makeup looks a bit dodgy, to put it kindly. That would be due to the fact that the alleged makeup artist we hired for the shoot, who assured us they could do the bodypaint work, showed up with a non-working airbrush. So it turned into a 2 1/2 hour fingerpainting session, and still looked horrible. Kat was a trooper through the whole fucking ordeal, but i wanted to find a train to run over me head.

Aside from generally being awesome and sexy, Laira is the appointed protector of sector 112, and the master fighter / martial artist of the Green Lantern Corps. Sadly, they didn’t use her in the movie (guess it was far more important to turn Kilowog into a potato made of boring, and not use Henry Rollins to voice him), so she’s probably not getting an action figure anytime soon.
I liked the Green Lantern movie. Liked. They actually did a respectable job of conveying the rather complex backstory, Blake Lively was much better than expected, and Mark Strong utterly nailed Sinestro…for all 7 minutes of screen-time he got. Don’t know that i’m going to run out and see it again anytime soon, but i wish it well and hope for a sequel that pays off on that mid-credits final scene.

Totally digging Laira since watching Emerald Knights. And yes, it was definitely the better GL movie.
Love the shoot,as always,but am concerned about “The Morality Police”. Those dicks ruin everything. Can we form some sort of Anti-Morality Corps? The Boobie Corps? Anything we can do to help,just say the woid…..

I like it, the only thing that I think is wierd is that I feel like her nipples should be like a darker blue or a purple, not the same color as her body.
I like the set as usual. Don’t let the make up artist discourage you from trying it again. I know this is a bit random but where is Jessica?
Next time, kick his fucking ass. No self respecting body painter goes to a shoot without a working airbrush. That’s just completely unprofessional.
The morality police need to get laid more often. That’s all I have to say really.
However, the set still looks good. Just remember, not all people are dicks and not all body painters are assholes.

Agreed on Sinestro – probably the highlight of the film for me. Considering the complexity of the lore pill they needed to make Average Joe and Jane swallow to have even a slightest clue about the backstory, that part was handled as best it could be without devoting the entire film to it.
Otherwise, it was decent, but certainly not going on my personal “Best of 2011″ list by any far stretch of stretchiness.
Maybe he said the airbrush wasn’t working just so he could fingerpaint kat?

First off, you know those sites where the person running it responds to every single comment? Yeah, those are retarded. But do know we appreciate all comments, even the (hopefully constructive) criticism.
CJ – yeah, i actually bought a dark blue lipstick just for that purpose, having sent the mua a pic of Virginia painted light blue as a reference for what we wanted. Then they show up with dark blue liquid makeup anyway. FFFFfffFF.
I’ve got two bodypaint shoots for the book, and will definitely make sure nipples are differentiated on at least one (the other i don’t know that it applies.)
Jessica will be back, and may be the focus of a follow-up book, assuming people are happy with the first one. While i apologize for all the Kat sets in a row, do know there’s some brand new stuff that i feel compelled to sit on until the book is done (right now on schedule for getting it to the printers by early July to have them in hand and ready to ship pre-sdcc.) Not everything from the book will turn up here, but not everything we’ve been shooting is going in the book, either…so interesting times ahead.
Kat looks great nomatter if she is in body paint or not. I cant comment yet about the GL movie, but I can tomorrow. I finally get to go see it tonight.
what’s the fascination with glasses about? does someone out there think they make the girls look better/hotter? if you’re gonna put glasses on the girls, at least get some nice looking glasses. these shits look like someone pulled them out of the clearance bin at k-mart.

How had I not seen this set before? Fantastic, there’s something really playful about it. Plus, that’s exactly what Laira would like in the Green Lantern manga that really should exist.
well i really like Laira Omoto but i just want to say that it didn’t end well for here (anyone who read the comics knows this) and i will not spoil it for anyone so its better if you guys read it
