On the one hand, coupling A Perfect Circle with new footage of Gotham‘s Oswald Cobblepot and Selina Kyle seems pretty inspired, and only compounds my desire to watch this thing as soon as humanly possible.

On the other, this exact track (Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums) was used in a trailer for Tim Story’s first Fantastic Four movie…

Maybe it’s a subtle way of announcing Harvey Dent’s presence in the series?

This dilemma regarding trailer music instantly reminds me of ‘The End Is the Beginning Is the End’ by the Smashing Pumpkins. Everything great about that song was overshadowed by how terrible Batman and Robin was.

But sometime in the future, fate intervened when Zack Snyder entered the picture and was all like, “Hey that song has the right emotion and energy for a movie I just made. I don’t give a shit if it was BatmangRobun SOundtrracks. Imma use this shit now. STEP ASIDE BITCHES, WE’RE TAKING IT BACK!”

And as fate would have it, not only was the song redeemed in a Watchmen trailer; but once it finally hit theaters, Watchmen fucking ruled.

So hopefully we’re seeing the same thing here, where Fantastic Four can fucking eat it — and Gotham is must see tv for years to come. Everybody wins!

(except Fantastic Four. fuck fantastic four aaaaaaaaahhh *pinches nipples*)
