Variety is reporting Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has two downloadable Watchmen games for PC/PS3/Xbox 360 in development, based on their upcoming adaptation of Alan Moore’s graphic novel. The first game will go live in conjunction with the movie’s March release, and the second is scheduled to precede the film’s DVD. The games will feature Rorschach and Nite Owl, and are expected to earn mature M ratings.
Shockingly, in the article, there’s a quote by the WBIE senior VP of Production, where he basically admits that licensed movie games generally tend to blow, and this is their attempt to circumvent that.

Expect to hear more at Comic Con, this weekend…which may also see the kick-off of a Dark Knight-esque viral campaign.
