Anyone else find it interesting that both Paul Andersons have movies opening this weekend? No? Okay.
Saw Resident Evil: Retribution. Quite liked it, maintains the series’ signature tradition of picking up and paying off the absurd cliffhanger from the previous entry, and then upping the stakes dramatically with its own ending. On balance, it’s not as good as the last film, Resident Evil: Afterlife, which featured a brilliant final boss fight against Wesker, set to A Perfect Circle’s The Outsider…but Retribution is vastly better than the other 3 entries in the series. No APC tracks this time, but the creature designs are superb, the Tomandandy score is solid, and Milla’s costume in this one is easily the best, and most fetishistic, of the series (please make that, Hot Toys!) She’s also in a translucent paper dress for a good 5 minutes, which is nice.
So yeah, well done, really looking forward to the next one, and will go back again before Dredd hits, next Friday.

Had to work all weekend, but I’m going to see it Tuesday. Can’t wait. And YES on the Hot Toys figure. Although I still want one from Extinction. That was my favorite.
Hi sherry! I heard from the cnn movie review that it wasnt good so i didnt go see it. I wish i had seen your review first, i would have taken your advice over his. Sherry, did you see the ms marvel body paint girl at this last comic con? Not sandiego but one that just recently happened. It looked good. I want to talk about it with you:)
Make no mistake, you would kick her costume designers butt, however her naked, painted body left an impression. I saved the pic as my locking slide screen on my phone. So when i trace the lightning bolt with my finger the phone unlocks. That way i cant forget the pattern. Talk about low security! Lol ps if you ever find my phone please return it. Im trusting you:)
I just watched Retribution last night and I have to say, it made me fall in love with the Resident Evil movie series all over again. The acting was horrible but the action was bananas.
Best post apocalyptic zombie action sci-fi movie. Ever.
Saw it Tuesday and dug it. Extinction and the first one are better, but not by much. Ended up taking 6000 words to do a review. Easy buy, though. We went and saw ParaNorman the same day and it’s good, too.
Can’t wait for Dredd.
