Per Variety, Warner Bros. is editing out realistic gun imagery from their upcoming Beware the Batman animated series; guns in the new series will be redrawn with a more stylized/sci-fi look. This on the heels of DC postponing the release of Batman Inc #3 by at least a month, over a sequence involving a teacher brandishing a gun.
Nothing heals like flailing, spastic overreaction. I do love that The Dark Knight Rises actually contains it’s own perfect refutation of / response to Aurora-inspired calls for gun control.

Are. You. Kidding. Me!?!?
Seriously? WTF does WB think will happen if there are guns in this program? The fact that they are removing them will cause more attention to the issue than if they’d just of left them alone.
Agreed, Miguel.
All I can say is, thank GOD WB realized their folly. If kids had gotten an eyeful of those sort-of-realistic guns on that show, who knows how many millions of people would have died in school shootings across the country.
When you censor guns, only censors will have them. …Wait, what?
