Here’s the trailer for Grandma’s Boy, quite possibly the best comedy of the last 10 years (depending on what genre you put the Crank films in), recut by vimeo user Zacaroni + Cheese as a conventional persecuted outsider / audience-affirming drama. At least it starts off that way, until it becomes evident that some works of art are just immune to normalizing and squaring down.
On the subject of under-appreciated comedy masterworks, the 2002 movie Slackers is up on youtube, in its entirety, available for free viewing here. There are far, far worse ways to spend 86 minutes this weekend.

I actually like the remix of Mrs. Doubtfire into a psychopath horror movie.
Grandma’s Boy is indeed unappreciated, and occasionally quoted in this household… along with other shows and movies nobody remembers- The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard ['This is exactly like Iwo Jima. No difference.']; The Critic ['What luck! There's a french fry in my beard!']; Clone High ['They tipped that mother over!']; Space Ghost Coast to Coast ['Moltar's dead, isn't he?']; The Fifth Element ['Aziz! Light!']; so on.
I remember enjoying Slackers, but that was some time ago. Free is a good price to see if I was wrong…
That’s good. I’ll take any Nick Swardson I can get.
But onto real stuff – where’s your thoughts on Prometheus? I’m still working on mine. I think I loved it except for some of the outrageous plot contrivances. Definitely want some toys. In the interest of avoiding spoilers – which I was happily able to do – I won’t say more.
just got back from it…really liked it, and yeah, i’m definitely in for a Hot Toys Engineer and Michael Fassbender.
I’ve said that least 821212 times. SCK was here
