Post-Human Pin-Up update

Veidt Post-Human Pin-Up

During the brief sleep i got after getting home at 4am thursday from Avengers, had a dream where i’d coordinated with one of the local comic stores to have girls in costume for photo-ops on Free Comic Book Day, in exchange for signs/qr codes promoting the Post-Human Pin-Up project on Rockethub.com. There were balloons, media coverage, children getting pictures taken hugging inappropriately attired superheroines: it was glorious…and then woke back to stark. bitter reality where i’m nowhere near focused or motivated enough to actually do something like that. Fun while it lasted, though.

Big THANK YOU to everyone who’s backed this project, so far. As we’ve surpassed the original target, wanted to update a couple things:

  • Timeline: Bodypaint/Cosplay shoots for this should be completed by mid June, allowing us to get the postcards/poster/new ebook out in July. (…yes, i mean July 2012. )
  • Everyone who backed this will also be getting a new/improved/revised pdf ebook of Cosplay Tetherball. This will be going out at the end of May.
  • Scored some more polaroid film, everyone who backed at $30, or more, will be getting at least one, one-of-a-kind, polaroid picture from the new shoots. We’ll do our best to make sure they don’t suck.
  • Everyone backing at any level will also be getting the link/pass to the donor only section here, which will be getting new sets this week (if you already have that, it’s not changing…same link/pass.) Expect that as soon as the project closes.

Project is currently at 178% of the original goal, with 3 days to go. Should do something extra if it hits 200%…open to suggestions, otherwise we’ll come up with something.

Suggestions… suggestions…

Can’t think of anything reasonable. A video recreation of the Five O’clock World Drew Carey Show opening by the site models except they’re dressed like sexy versions of the Justice League… special appearances by Adam West and Michael Keaton… filmed in outer space…

Badly choreographed superhero/supervillain fight?

Video or set re-creating the post-credits Avengers bit at the restaurant?

Can any of the girls play the banjo?

Free comic book day with your girls would be cool, but for some reason Earth 2 near me wants it to be a family thing. I don’t get it.

I could see them wanting it to be family friendly because the idea of Free Comic Book Day is to draw in noobs- hopefully kids.

Unlikely as that is, one can dream.

I think it could be done with a bit of revilement.

I understand the need for the paid sections or benefits of the site but it seems like those of us who don’t have the funds for that section of the site are getting alot less love : (

Beyond elated! Did not see that coming…

Batfan – the project hit its deadline this morning, it’s no longer active (*edit* as Scopedogg just said, but i didn’t refresh the page before posting, so i missed that.) If there’s demand, once it’s ready, we could try and get the pdf up on one, or more, of the legit/respectable ebook retailers.

I cant wait for this project to get going. Will you be sending out Link/pass for the Donate page for the ones who donated thought rockethub?

When should I expect to see the password to the donor section?

As far as suggestions, I would love to see something involving liquid latex — that would be a great way to create superhero costuming. It would be especially nice if that something also involved Kat.

Congrats on the success of funding this!

Suggestions?

A Disney princess themed shoot might be cool. Got to love sexy Disney princesses. Although costumes might be costly.
