New alt superheroine cosplay pics featuring Marnie in a set inspired by Harley Quinn in the New 52 Suicide Squad. These were shot for the Cosplay Tetherball project, but we’ve since done a newer take on her, so posting some of the images here.
Just read the New 52′s revised origin of Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad #7, and Dick, i am very dissapoint. Nevermind that Mad Love already established a perfect backstory for the character, i was willing to accept the minor changes when Harley was initially integrated into the DCU proper (actually really liked the idea of Ivy genetically enhancing her, to explain how she could pose a legitimate threat to characters like Batman, Nightwing or Catwoman, who’ve been training all their lives.) But this New 52 origin is a travesty: <spoiler?>Harley is no longer proactive in recreating herself. Or naming herself. Or even picking her color scheme. The Joker just dunks her into a vat of the same chemicals that transformed him, and she comes out perma-clown white, with red and black hair.
long story short: Harley Quinn’s new origin is the saddest mess this side of a Torrid shopping spree. Have quite liked all the New 52 books i’ve read (except
Vegeta Catwoman), and i do dig this Suicide Squad series, but this story blows.
More pics post-jump. You know the drill. Under 18s, and anyone offended by nudity, you’ll find what you’re looking for here.
Promised to have these up Tuesday afternoon. It’s 10:30pm as i type this…just trying to get it done before midnight. As expected, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City was a potent distraction, compounded with finding series 2 of Marvel Legends. Fantomex and Madame Hydra are next to my laptop, currently getting curb stomped by Arkham City Batman and Catwoman.
Why a rabbit? We couldn’t afford any hyenas, so we made do.
Thanks Marnie! More new cosplay stuff coming shortly.
