2011 Veidt.com Cosplay Design Contest – without you, we’re naked

We get a lot of suggestions for new cosplay sets, and there’s no way we can accommodate many of them on our non-existent budget. It was suggested, however, that we do what we can to make at least one person happy, by running our first ever costume contest. You design it, and if we love it, we’ll put your costume together for a brand new still/video shoot.

Come up with an original character design, draw it/photoshop it/construct it in ASCii text, and submit it via email by December 12, 2011. Superheroine, villainess, spy, alien, robot…whatever, as long as it came out of your head, and looks dope. Entries will be judged on multiple criteria, including Creativity, Feasibility, Aesthetic Appeal, Boner Inducing-ness, etc. We’ll pick one winner, but reserve the right to use as many as we want to/are able to do.

All you need to submit is a character design and name. You are absolutely free to include the character’s backstory/origin, storyboards for suggested shots, role-playing stats, or any other supplemental information you opt to include, but that’s all optional.

What you win: 1.) the intense joy of seeing your creation brought to life here on the site. 2.) HD images and out-takes from the shoot, not available to anyone else. 3.) a personalized video featuring your costume in action, not available to anyone else. 4.) a shoot-used piece of the costume you designed.

Contest rules and such: Enter by December 12, 2011. No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. Each entrant agrees, warrants and represents that design(s) submitted are their original work; no one else has any rights with respect to the character design; and the use of the design by Veidt.com will not violate the rights of any third parties. All designs submitted become the sole property of Veidt.com, and will not be returned. Veidt.com will own, in perpetuity, solely and exclusively, all designs submitted in this contest without compensation. Veidt.com reserves the right to excercise artistic license in making alterations, substitutions, and changes to submitted designs.  Many will enter, few will win.
