Some Assembly Required

Will be interesting to see how long this stays up. Someone got video of the post-credits sequence of Captain America: The First Avenger at an advance military screening (i believe it was at an Army base) and it’s <spoiler?> the first teaser for next summer’s The Avengers. Starts with Cap punching a heavy bag across a gym and meeting Nick Fury, before cutting to quick scenes of Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Captain America in action (no Hulk, yet…) Ends with the group assembled in a SHIELD conference room before a final shot of Thor throwing his hammer.

Quite good stuff, despite the dodgy cam quality, and i’m very much looking forward to both Cap and The Avengers…but it’s no split second shot of Bane staring into your soul.

I saw it earlier, and enjoyed it.

I’m honestly thinking this was a better teaser than Rises (add to the fact that ‘Rises’ or ‘Rise’ has been put in every other movie coming out). It seemed like they were actually trying to give you a reason to want to see The Avengers- whereas Rises just had an old man in a hospital bed talkin’ platitudes intercut between a few second glimpses of Bane, and Batman doing the ‘issat all you got?’ fight stance.

Don’t misunderstand me- I’m sure Batman Rises will be a better movie (especially if they live up to the implication that they’ll actually kill Batman). But Avengers just looks freakin’ fun.

Even though Thor seems to have lost the big red cape I love so much…
