So while nowhere near as funny as the 3 3/4″ alleged John Connor action figure in the Terminator: Salvation line that wore a Klan hood, or something, to hide the fact that Christian Bale wouldn’t approve his likeness, Spin Master apparently couldn’t procure the rights to Olivia Wilde’s image for their new Quorra figure in wave 2 of the Tron: Legacy toys (showing up now on ebay.) She’s wearing a helmet/mask completely obscuring her face, as seen in production design sketches of the character.

No idea whether Wilde actually declined, or there was no time to secure her approval while attempting to make it to stores pre-Christmas.

Also, i have no idea if the character Jarvis wears a half-Cobra Commander mask throughout the film, or actor James Frain was unwilling/unavailable to okay his likeness, also. tangential: Frain’s playing a chess-obsessed supervillain in the upcoming NBC series, The Cape, which is getting slagged off on all over the onlineosphere, but actually looks pretty fucking daring, and far, far more like a Michael Gondry-directed superhero project than The Green Hornet. I’m really looking forward to it, please don’t suck.

Finally, that’s the first image from Hot Toys teasing their Tron: Legacy line, the initial release being a 12″ Sam Flynn with his light cycle. Which i’m sure will make somebody happy, but i’m waiting for a Hot Toys Olivia Wilde, Michael Sheen, and Serinda Swan.
