Only 16 or so hours later than promised, here’s the first part of two sets featuring Jessica as DC’s backwards talking sorceress supreme, Zatanna. In addition to being one of the most fascinating and powerful superheroines in all of comicdom, Zatanna is a longtime member of the JLA, has carnal knowledge of Batman, and was one of the few characters to move freely between titles like Hellblazer, Books of Magic, and Swamp Thing, and the DCU proper, back when the Vertigo apartheid was being enforced.
You have no idea how much i miss Lazytown.
More pics after the jump.
For a relatively obscure character, Zatanna’s profile seems to be on the rise between recurring appearances in the psuedo-Justice League on Smallville [in a series crammed full of attractive people, Serinda Swan (the actress portraying Zee) is a standout], a new action figure from Mattel (assuming wave 14 of DC Universe Classics ever actually comes out here), turning up on the animated Batman: The Brave and The Bold, and the presence of her father Zatara in the upcoming Young Justice cartoon would suggest she’ll show up in some capacity.
Most significant is the news breaking today that Christopher Nolan has cast his Inception star Tom Hardy as Zatanna in the upcoming sequel to The Dark Knight, which should prove a formidable challenge to the chameleonic actor. Can’t wait.
Never know how people will react to the junk on this site, and there’s always some reluctance to putting stuff up because of the inevitable hate mail…but fuck it. I really like some of these, and don’t care. Also dope that those worthless Film Studies classes finally pay off through inspiring Zatanna cosplay by way of The Unbearable Lightness of Being.
End part 1. Thanks Jessica for being gnikcuf emosewa, and wearing this alleged costume.
