Warners triple dip Watchmen blu-ray out today, with little (zero?) fanfare

Yeah, i had no idea this was out today. Went into Best Buy for a game and oh fuck me, there’s Watchmen The Ultimate Cut on blu-ray, complete with kinda horrid box art. It’s not like i run a tangentially connected site, and should have been aware of it, or anything.

Bought it, have yet to watch it, but it appears this is just the Director’s Cut with Tales from the Black Freighter threaded in. The motion comic, the video for MCR’s cover of Desolation Row,  and Under the Hood are also included.

Amazon still lists this as not coming out until next Tuesday, the 10th. Seriously, WB…do some kind of promotion on stuff like this, yeah? I’m fairly savvy with the onlines, and didn’t see a single damn ad anywhere. Hell, you could’ve owned this entire goddamn blog through Christmas, with just an advance copy.

I haven’t seen it either, but from the info I’ve heard, it has the TotBF interweaved in as well as more scenes with the two Bernies (presumably that lead into the black freighter segments.)

Wow… that’s terrible box art. I would really think WB would be plugging this as the perfect holiday gift for the nerd in your life.
I can’t believe that none of us knew this was coming this week.
