As of Monday night, The Dark Knight has made over $400,000,000 in its first 18 days of release. It hit that milestone more than twice as fast as the previous record holder [Shrek 2 (Jesus…)], which did it in 43 days.

Heath Ledger Joker

I’ve seen the movie 5 times now…and I remain completely overwhelmed that the mass-moviegoing public could be so right about something, in such a big way. Hate to wax cynical, but it’s almost surreal seeing something deserving of its success.

The odd part is, the movie doesn’t appear to have translated that success, internationally. The Dark Knight has only made $203 million, so far, across all foreign markets. This lines up pretty well with Batman Begins, which did $166 million, total, in the international market.

Consequently, whenever I hear someone talk about the significance of our upcoming Presidential election, and the impact it could have on how the rest of the world views America, all I can think is, “Eff that noise. The rest of the world went to see Pirates of the Caribbean 2 over Dark Knight by a factor of like 3.5x. The rest of the world can eat a bowl of dicks.”

I love rodents. Like retarded, Twilight in love with them. I actually bought Alvin and the Chipmunks on dvd.

I really love rodents with swords, and especially love Mouse Guard. I knew absolutely nothing about this, until stumbling across the poster, today…

The Tale of Despereaux

The Tale of Despereaux, which kinda looks alot like Mouse Guard, is coming December 19th from Universal Pictures. Seriously, Universal Marketing, send me some free stuff from this, get me into a screening, and you can pretty much own this site until it’s released.

Thanks for the link, TSR! No, all I was going on was the poster…and now I see it’s actually nothing like Mouse Guard.

I’m still interested, but my enthusiasm and expectations have been dialed way down.
